Implementation and Progress on the “Lengthening, Expansion, and Stabilization” of Insurance Float
“Insurance for Insurance”

Anicom Holdings, Inc. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Nobuaki Komori; hereinafter, “the Company”) has been advancing initiatives that integrate pet insurance, prevention, healthcare, and technology.
In light of steadily growing demand in the pet insurance market and our recognition that structural issues may underlie rising medical costs and potential instability in profitability, the Company has organized its initiatives under the concept of “Insurance for Insurance.”

*“Insurance for Insurance”
In medical insurance, advances in medical technology can themselves drive higher demand for healthcare. At the same time, increasingly advanced care tends to become more expensive and may also become a structural risk factor that may deteriorate insurers’ profitability.
In response to this structure, our Group is pursuing an approach that does not rely on financial risk transfer such as reinsurance. Instead, we are proactively advancing mechanization, standardization, and further AI enablement of advanced medical care itself and promoting its internal circulation within the Group.
Through these efforts, we aim to stabilize the cost structure while maintaining and improving the quality of care, and to strategically build “Insurance for Insurance” that functions as a substantive hedge. We believe these initiatives may contribute not only to mitigating medical-cost risk, but also to enhancing the stability and predictability of insurance float, thereby supporting medium- to long-term corporate value creation.
【Executive Summary】
・We will enhance the duration, volume, and quality of insurance float by achieving internal circulation (within the Group) of advanced animal medical care and related services—while also aiming to capture portfolio synergies with pet medical insurance—and thereby pursue substantive hedging against the structural risks inherent in pet insurance.
・In pets, lifestyle factors such as monotonous diets and insufficient oral care may be associated with higher disease-onset risk. By supporting improvements in these areas, we will seek to simultaneously enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen the long-term sustainability of the business.
Going forward, the Company will continue to pursue the co-evolution of insurance, healthcare, and technology, working to achieve both the extension of healthy life expectancy for pets and the sustainability of the insurance system.
